Getting Started
This guide walks you through creating your first job and inviting your first candidate — from sign-up to evaluation in minutes.
Interview Edge is AI-powered. Before you can generate questions or evaluate candidates, you must configure an AI provider.
Go to Settings → AI Provider, select Gemini, choose a model (gemini-2.5-flash is recommended), enter your API key, and click Save.
1. Create your account
Go to the Interview Edge login page and click Start free trial. Enter your name, company, email, and a password.
Your trial gives you full access for 14 days. No credit card required.
2. Create a job
- Click New Job in the left sidebar
- Fill in the Job Title and paste the full Job Description
- Optionally add Key Requirements — must-have skills as a bullet list
- Leave the status as
draftfor now and click Create Job
3. Generate interview questions
- Open the job you just created
- Click Set Active
- The AI reads your job description and generates interview questions — each with a category, difficulty rating, and model answer (3 on Guest, up to 6 on Pro)
- Review the questions. If you want a different set, click ↻ Change Question Set
Question generation takes 5–15 seconds.
4. Invite a candidate
- Click Invite Candidate in the sidebar (or Invite directly from the job page)
- Select the job, enter the candidate's name and email
- Click Generate Invite
- Copy the unique interview link and send it — by email, WhatsApp, SMS, or share the QR code
The candidate needs no account. They open the link, answer the questions, and submit.
5. Review the evaluation
Once the candidate submits:
- Go to Interviews in the sidebar
- Click the candidate's row to open their interview detail page
- AI analysis runs automatically (5–15 seconds)
- You'll see:
- An overall score
- A radar chart across 5 traits
- A hire / no-hire verdict with justification
- Per-question AI observations
- Click ▾ See Questions & Answers to read the full transcript
That's it — your first AI-scored interview is complete.
